Friends -

Instead of a Christmas card this year, I decided to write a letter.  It may be a bit unorthodox, but “We’re Innovative” ya know!  Bear with me as I make an attempt to express my gratitude, my appreciation and my feelings.  Rambling on I go …

2009 has been a challenging year with ups and downs, victories and difficulties.  I am happy to report that we’re still here, we’re still blessed and we’re still ever humbled by the Grace shown to us everyday. 

These challenges temper the steel in each of us.  We show our true colors in times like these.  We are given unending opportunities to share.  We experience our Faith.  We Pray.  We hurt.  We help.  We ask why.  We wonder when.  We give.  We receive.  We are humbled.  We are broken down yet lifted up.  We find ourselves and our God.  We realize what really matters.  We are renewed by the most important of values.  We understand what family really means.  We remember … yes, we remember.

It is with great humility and respect that I thank each of the guys [and gal!] on our team.  There may be no more committed people on the planet.  I am humbled daily by your continued sense of ownership and dedication to our motto … “We Don’t Fail”.

I am equally humbled by, and thankful for, the ever increasing number of repeat and referral clients we receive calls from each week.  This is a tribute to the men and women of We’re Innovative and the greatest thanks that we could ever imagine from our family of terrific customers.  Your loyalty is the reason we are here.  You are appreciated!

If you are a new member of our family, we’re glad to have you and look forward to a long relationship.  Don’t think twice about calling us … for anything.  If we can help, we will help.

While the physical result of our relationship with you may be a remodeled kitchen or bath, a restaurant build out or some other construction project, our pathway to provide this is the chance to touch and know people.  We share our gifts with you as gifts have been shared with us.  It’s not just wood, copper and drywall.  It’s people.  It’s you.

Christmas may be a bit less “commercial” for many of us this year, but it is a wonderful opportunity to get back to the basics.  Love your family.  Hug a child.  Share your smile.  Do one small unselfish thing for someone you don’t know.  There is still the Golden Rule … it has not left us.  Let us not forget!

If you have ever looked at your electricity bill and them immediately went and turned of a light (or ten), (haven’t we all done that?!), except maybe for those lucky enough to have full solar electric power, then this is for you!

LED lighting is taking the world by storm. A relatively new technology, high output LED’s used to be the playthings of only NASA and the military, but due to advances in technology, and economy of scale, you can now light almost your entire home with super low power, high output LED lights. Bulbs are made today to replace most common standard lightbulbs, from low voltage to your standard good ol’ Edison lightbulb.  Many are now DIMMABLE, and wattages are available to replace most standard bulbs.

The initial investment is high, but the payoff is fast.  A recent customer of ours in San Diego replaced all of the lightbulbs in their restaurant with high output LED’s at an initial cost of a few thousand dollars. OUCH! You say… But they came to us only a few weeks later and showed us a $400 PER MONTH SAVINGS on their electric bill! (you can do the math on that). The bulbs are all specified last anywhere from 10 to 20 YEARS under typical usage! (now do the math on that!)

Let’s see…$400 per month…times 12 months…times ten years,  = $48,000 savings!

As we are very active members in the San Diego chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America, (one of the largest and most respected organizations in our industry), we volunteer every year to work at the charity golf tournament held at Singing Hills in August. As much fun as business, it’s a chance to let go a little and do something for our industry. The AGC motto is “Quality People, Quality Projects”. We like that. We live it.

Tom here is clearly having fun while “working hard” with one of our respected colleagues! Ask us about the AGC and what we can do for you!

We received this card a couple of days ago. Tom designed the custom cabinetry (built and installed by our custom cabinet shop) for her master bedroom. This kind of thing makes us very happy!

We are very proud to announce that the Chuck Jones Art Gallery (that’s THE Chuck Jones of Loony Tunes fame) is open now at 232 Fifth Ave downtown San Diego in the Gaslamp District. They are showing a large collection art from various famous illustrators and painters including several original works by the illustrious Chuck Jones himself. We were pleased to be selected by Linda Jones Enterprises to provide complete Design-Build construction services for this project. While we always like to show off some of our higher profile work, this is a very nice, clean and welcoming space. Perfect for art exhibition. Don’t miss it, especially if you are downtown for ComiCon this month! Photos to follow soon in the Gallery.
